So where exactly have the last few weeks gone ?

Had fun photographing NME cover stars Palma Violets at York’s Duchess. It was nice to see some energy from both band and audience. I was nearly taken out by flailing mic-stands on several occasions…

A ramshackle encore had support band and fellow South London urchins ‘Childhood’ join Palma Violets on stage for a fittingly chaotic finale.

Smoke Fairies were a far more sedate affair and still hugely enjoyable.

Jessica Davies & Katherine Blamire have talent to spare and have magically distilled American blues with English folk.

Biggest surprise for me was photographing Jesca Hoop. I had not heard anything by her until the show and had rushed to the venue from a meeting to find The Duchess candlelit and hushed.

Was utterly charmed by her performance and have had her album ‘House That Jack Built’ on replay ever since.

Busy few weeks coming up with an album cover shoot, a pinhole camera workshop, a wedding fair and a fashion test shoot, before photographing Jake Bugg the day after my birthday.
