The exhibition that myself and two friends have been working on opened this Monday night in York’s Theatre Royal and continues until April 28th.

It is always good to see a project come off ~ especially when you can remember how small a seed it grew from and how much it changed and evolved along the way. The fact that it came from a passion and was such a joy to work on is a real bonus.

The exhibition covers the past few years of exploring abandonments in Yorkshire and the emergence of urban art as our primary source of inspiration

We made it to some fascinating places and saw some fantastic art. By the nature of its location the artwork is fragile and quite often doesn’t last long so timing plays an important role in capturing these ephemeral pieces.

Sadly many of the works that form ‘Urban Canvas’ are now gone forever.
