As part of Sheffield’s Tramlines festival this year the arts collective ‘South Yorks’ premiered Kid Acne’s Zebra Face animated shorts ~ which are currently to be seen on Channel 4.
The venue was a much frequented ‘urbex’ location decorated by the city’s finest urban artists. It was odd seeing the usually quiet and deserted place vibrantly alive with bands and djs playing sets for the wonderfully diverse audience.
Kid Acne gave a short introduction to the Zebra Face animations and outlined the history of the character and all the various people who have contributed along the way, such as Jarvis Cocker who voices the ‘Sun’ character.
It was a brilliant sunny day in the city with the free festival attracting a large crowd to the many stages. I took in a couple of bands and then caught up with some urban art I hadn’t seen before. The shot above is another of Kid Acne’s works.
This is an early-ish Phlegm piece near the Moors shopping centre.
This piece is entitled ‘Art Fag’ and is a collaboration between Phlegm & Kid Acne.
